When you register for our general service (email alerts) we need to know your email address. When you register for the members service we ask for: name, address, telephone number, name of organisation, email address and reasons for wanting access to the members area.
We gather this information to assess applications for membership against criteria for membership. The relevant information is then used by us, our agents to provide you with information about site updates or access to the members area) and to communicate with you on any matter relating to community safety in Derbyshire.
We may also use aggregate information and statistics for the purposes of monitoring website usage in order to help us develop the website and our services and may provide such aggregate information to third parties. These statistics will not include information that can be used to identify any individual.

How SaferDerbyshire uses Cookies
Cookies are used in conjunction with server side sessions when a registered user logs onto the members section.

Netscape Communicator 4.0:

How to See the Code in a Cookie:
Just click on a cookie to open it. You'll see a short string of text and numbers. The numbers are your identification card, which can only be seen by the server that gave you the cookie.
- How we protect your information
The internet is not a secure medium. However we have put in place various security procedures as set out in this policy.
Members Access Area
Only the highest-level administrator of the NEP Content Management Operating System (CMOS) can access USER details. All Personal Data is stored in a SQL database, ensuring that:
a) The file cannot be downloaded, and
b) It is stored securely
The user can change some of their own details via the ‘My Details’ section of the Members Access Area.
Email Alert Registrations
Only the highest-level administrator of the NEP Content Management Operating System (CMOS) can access USER details where they can be deleted if requested.
The users themselves can also delete their own information from the list using the front end of the website.
No cookies or sessions are used by the front end user when submitting and removing their own email from the newsletter list.
This data is also stored in a SQL database providing superior efficiency and security.
We also keep your information confidential and have in place internal procedures to cover the storage, access and disclosure of your information.
- Updating your details
If any of the information that you have provided to DCC changes, for example if you change your email address, please let us know the correct details by sending an email to admin@derbyshireaces.org.uk
- Your consent
By submitting your information you consent to the use of that information as set out in this policy.
If we change our privacy policy we will post the changes on this page, and may place notices on other pages of the website, so that you may be aware of the information we collect and how we use it at all times.
